ORC Week 6: Master Bedroom Reveal
One Room Challenge Week 6:
Master Bedroom Makeover Reveal
It’s the final week of the One Room Challenge, and I can’t believe we made it through the finish line! Really though, I didn’t think I was going to hit this deadline, but here we are. It’s amazing how something I have been viewing as such a ‘small project’ was really not that small after all. During these past 6 weeks my husband and I (mostly my husband on the labor end ) have been working super hard to transform our Master Bedroom.
With a full-time interior design business and a cute 7 month old baby boy, it was tough pulling this off in 6 weeks. However, we absolutely love the results and now have our very own haven to enjoy. Our biggest transformation was the walls & moldings. Paint colors can sure do a lot to transform a space! Our room went from dull and muddy to light and bright. The added picture moldings and crown moldings also did a lot to add to the space, making it feel more sophisticated and finished.
Without further ado, here is the reveal of our finish Master Bedroom oasis! All of the before photos can be seen in Week One’s post.
If you have been following along in my progress on this renovation, you know that I was considering painting the bedroom a stunning shade of a light steel, powder blue. The window trim was already painted Sherwin Williams Colonnade Gray, so we would have needed to repaint all the moldings if we went with a blue hue. So we decided to stick with our plan of using Sherwin Williams Colonnade Gray on all the trim and doors and Extra White on the walls and picture moldings. I am very happy with the way the space feels more open and bright with the light walls!
With the walls being white, we decided we needed a pop of color. I fell in love with these emerald green drapes from Crate & Barrel. The color is stunning and coordinated well with our selected art work.
All of our prints are from Juniper Print Shop. You can either download the art work and print it yourself or have it printed by Juniper and mailed to you. I am a gal who likes immediate satisfaction for a purchase, so I opted in for the download and had them printed at Walgreens.
Most of our accessories I purchased from Target and HomeGoods with the exception of the pillows. The white and black pillows I got from the Woven Nook, and the front rust pillow I sewed myself from a Ralph Lauren fabric remnant.
My husband worked so hard to get doors installed on our closet and Master Bathroom. When we bought the home in 2015, the doors had holes in them. We tossed the damaged doors and have not installed new ones until now. This has already made such a huge impact. We now have privacy and the space feels much cleaner.
I truly couldn’t be happier with the results. Although rigorous, I would definitely recommend participating in the One Room Challenge! There is a great community of support, and it’s a good way to keep you on track towards the goal of completing a space.
Many amazing feature and guest participants are revealing their transformations this week. Be sure to check everyone out on the One Room Challenge Blog! Now I am off to enjoy a bubble bath and a glass of champagne in celebration of success.
Cheers!
