ORC Week 2: Master Bedroom Makeover
One Room Challenge Week 2: Master Bedroom Refresh
It’s week two of the One Room Challenge and progress is being made on our Master Bedroom refresh!
Our barn door hardware for the closet has arrived, and I have collected all the supplies I need to refinish the frame on our woven bench. I also went to our local lumber store and ordered our doors, crown moldings and picture moldings.
In order to progress in paint color and décor decisions, I decided to order and print the Lynne Millar Art I chose from Juniper Print Shop. It was incredibly easy and so satisfying working with Juniper. I purchased and downloaded the piece of my choice, sent it off to Walgreens online to have it printed and picked it up from our local store the same day. Instant gratification! It was SO nice not having to wait for the print to arrive in the mail.
On to the wall paint swatches - My original plan was to paint the walls Sherwin Williams Extra White (SW 7006) and finish the trim and crown moldings in Colonnade Gray (SW 7641). When browsing on Instagram, I saw the below stunning Master Bedroom by Alice Lane Design. I fell in love with the wall color, which is a 50 / 50 mix of Sherwin Williams Uncertain Gray (SW 6234) and Stardew (SW 9138).
I put up the following Sherwin Williams swatches:
Extra White SW 7006 (trim painted Colonnade Gray SW 7641)
50 / 50 Mix of Uncertain Gray SW 6234 and Stardew SW 9138 (trim painted the same color)
50/50 Mix of Samovar Silver and Niebla Azul 9137 (trim painted the same color)
Once the swatches were up, I was leaning towards 1 & 3. After looking at these a few days now, I am still totally stuck. I’m a little worried that combo 2 may feel too baby blue and combo 3 may be too dark for the space. Doing the Extra White as originally planned may just be the right choice for the space. It will brighten it up and be timeless. What are your thoughts on the paint options? Leave your opinion in the comments below!
